About this event
Casa de la Cultura presents a Dia de los Muertos parade, ofrenda, and car show on Historic South 24th Street in South Omaha. The route follows M Street between 23rd and 24th and 24th Street from M to P, with decorated floats and cars, Catrinas and Catrines, horses, and families, children, and dogs in costume. A shared altar welcomes photos and offerings for loved ones who have died, and a Catrina and Catrin costume and makeup contest invites extra artistry. Spectators are welcome to dress up and watch.
Our take: Bring a photo and a small offering if you want a place on the community ofrenda, then find a curb spot on 24th Street for the floats and Catrinas.
