About this event
The Cuming County Fair takes place at the fairgrounds in West Point. The most recent fair, last August, had 4-H and FFA livestock shows, a carnival, tractor pulls, concerts, bull riding, mutton bustin', barrel racing, eating contests, a drone light show and more than two dozen food stands. The fairgrounds hold the Cuming County Historical Society's museum complex, including a Chicago Northwestern depot from 1904, a Union Pacific caboose, a one-room schoolhouse and the 1919 Big Red Barn, plus a restored circus bandwagon in a glass-enclosed display at the depot. Daily admission at the last fair was $15 for adults and $10 for ages 10 to 15; children nine and under get in free with an adult.
Our take: Bring a few quarters for the Union Pacific caboose in the museum complex: they start its model railroad.
