About this event

Chapel Hill Farmers' Market was started in April 2008 by Farmers of Orange, a nonprofit created for local farmers by local farmers, and it still meets at University Place, 201 S. Estes Drive. Farmers and artisans live within 60 miles of Chapel Hill and bring produce, value-added farm products, and crafts through the year. Double Bucks matches SNAP/EBT and North Carolina WIC and Senior FMNP dollar for dollar, and the match can be spent on any SNAP-eligible item, including local meat. A compost site is run with Orange County Solid Waste, University Place, and the town. Friends of the Market gifts support children's programming and outreach.

Our take: If you use SNAP or FMNP, ask about Double Bucks so the match can cover meat as well as produce.

Parking

Well-behaved dogs are allowed on a non-extendable leash, under control and at your side.

Open all year at University Place. Saturdays 8 am-12 pm and Tuesdays 3-6 pm; winter Saturday hours 9 am-12 pm, November-March.
