About this event
Twin Cities Oktoberfest is held at the Historic Progress Center on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Saint Paul. Beer, food, music, and merchandise are all local, with 20 beers and ciders from Utepils, Pryes, Dangerous Man, Haggard Barrel, and Minneapolis Cider Company, including Marzen, pilsner, kolsch, and hefeweizen. Plates run from Gerhard's brats and German potato salad to Aki's Breadhaus pretzels, Jesse's Spatzle, and candied bacon from Big Guy's BBQ. German bands and a dance troupe fill the stages, with stein-holding contests.
Our take: Start with Gerhard's brats and an Aki's pretzel, then stay for the German bands and stein-holding contests.
Parking
Plentiful on the State Fairgrounds. Bikes can be locked near the Progress Center. Pets are not allowed; registered service dogs are. A wristband and valid ID are required to buy or drink alcohol; 21 or older.
Good to know
Friday 5 pm to 11 pm and Saturday noon to 10 pm. The Progress Center is indoors, with a large tent outside.
