About this event

America's Hometown Thanksgiving Parade steps off at Plymouth Rock on the historic waterfront and is billed as America's only historically accurate chronological Thanksgiving parade, with floats representing each century from the 17th through the 21st. Floats mark historic events and national anniversaries, with drum and bugle corps and military bands honoring the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard. The route ends at Court Street and Nelson Street, with more than 100 entries including floats, bands, and military units. Opening ceremonies start the morning before step-off, and the weekend also includes a concert series, beer and wine garden, waterfront activities, a holiday village, and a children's pavilion.

Our take: Arrive for the opening ceremonies before step-off at Plymouth Rock if you want a spot along the waterfront route toward Court Street and Nelson Street.
