About this event
Food and wine take over the McNeese campus in Lake Charles for Rouge et Blanc, the flagship gathering of Banners, an arts and cultural program for a five-parish stretch of Southwest Louisiana. The grand tasting is outdoors: restaurants and winemakers offer small samples, and wine experts and area chefs share what they know. Wine dinners and seminars sit in the wider series, which also supports a cultural series and the Banners Engages program. No one under 21 is admitted, babies included, and the grand tasting goes on rain or shine.
Our take: Pace the small pours and bites; the grand tasting is built on samples from many restaurants and winemakers, not a full meal at one table.
