About this event
The Owensboro Regional Farmers' Market started in 1983 as a small cluster of vendors selling seasonal produce by the river. After outgrowing that home and a church parking lot, it now has its own pavilion at Triplett Street and Parrish Avenue, on land leased from Owensboro Health. A strict grown-or-made rule means everything comes from within 50 miles, covering 11 counties in Kentucky and Indiana, and resale is banned. Produce and meat remain the stars, but farmers and producers now also sell hot breakfast and lunch, with a picnic area, live music and a kids' club.
Our take: Plan on breakfast at the pavilion: the same local farmers cook hot food to eat in the picnic area.
