About this event

Honolulu Pride, presented by the Hawai‘i LGBT Legacy Foundation, honors the spirit of the LGBTQIA/MVPFAFF+ community and the leaders who shaped its journey. The parade travels Kalākaua Avenue from Magic Island to the Waikīkī Shell, celebrating businesses, nonprofits and allies of the queer community, and the festival that follows at the Waikīkī Shell and Diamond Head Greens features more than 70 community booths, four hours of live entertainment and local food vendors. Pride week also includes a Hawai‘i Theatre Center concert headlined by Big Freedia and a Sunday closing party.

Our take: On-site parking at the Waikīkī Shell is limited, so try the paid Honolulu Zoo lot on Kapahulu Avenue, which usually has open spaces earlier in the day, or take TheBus.

Parking

Limited public parking is available in the lots around the Waikīkī Shell and along Monsarrat and Paki avenues; metered street parking and the Queen Kapiʻolani Hotel garage are other options.

Good to know

The parade kicks off at 3 p.m. and the festival starts at 5 p.m. Bags are searched; chairs, umbrellas, coolers and outside food and drinks are not allowed, except one factory-sealed water bottle per person.
