About this event

The Hana community hosts Festivals of Aloha as a weeklong celebration of Hawaiian culture, tradition and community. Festivities include the Hana Parade and Ho'olaule'a at Hana Ballpark, hula and musical performances, sports competitions, cultural activities, local food, contests and chances to support Hana artisans and businesses. Opening Saturday pairs a crafters fair with the parade, ho'olaule'a and music, then a teen night at Helene Hall. Later days add an ohana beach day and a keiki and wahine shoreline fishing tournament at Hana Bay, sports nights, a craft fair at Helene Hall, the Hana Arts talent show, a kupuna luncheon at Hana-Maui Resort, a floral lei contest, food contests, Hawaiiana night, a jamboree and a closing Ho'ike, plus cross-country golf from the Hana Farmers Market parking lot.

Our take: Anchor the week on the Saturday parade and Ho'olaule'a at Hana Ballpark, then pick one later night, such as the lei contest, food contests or Ho'ike, instead of trying to cover every sports block.
