About this event

The Blackbird Creek Fall Festival is hosted by the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve at the Blackbird Creek Reserve near Townsend, along the banks of Blackbird Creek. The festival celebrates estuaries and Delaware's cultural traditions with crafts, hands-on learning about the estuary, live music, food trucks, kids' activities, artisans, hayrides and educational exhibitors. Food vendors include Top Five BBQ, Shay's Seafood and Soul and Kona Ice of South New Castle, and Bryan Scar and Em McKeever play sets through the day.

Our take: Stop by the Tree for Every Delawarean Initiative, which gives out free native trees to plant in Delaware while supplies last.

Good to know

The festival runs 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Admission is free.
