About this event
The Town of Prospect has hosted its Pumpkin Festival every October since 2004, on the Prospect Town Green. Students from pre-K through 8th grade enter a pumpkin decorating contest, and residents dress scarecrows the town provides. A car and truck costume parade runs down Route 69, starting at CVS, and a Halloween dog costume contest joined the lineup in 2022. Teams of four, ages 16 and up, can enter a hay-bale race. Food and drink stands, local vendors, games, and music round out the green.
Our take: Line up on Chandler Drive if you are in the car and truck parade, and bring cash because there are no ATMs on the green.
Parking
Park at Long River Middle School or behind Town Hall and use the shuttle. No parking on Center Street. Fire station parking opens after the parade.
Good to know
No ATMs on the grounds. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Parade lineup is on Chandler Drive.
