About this event
The Connecticut Garlic and Harvest Festival has run since 2005 at the Bethlehem Fairgrounds on Route 61 in Bethlehem, with the entrance at 304 Main St. North. Cooking demonstrations, garlic-growing lectures, and live bands sit beside produce stands selling fresh garlic and other fall crops. Specialty vendors sell garlic dips, spreads, cheeses, and oils, and most offer samples before you buy. The food court lists homemade roasted garlic sausage with peppers and onions, wood-fired garlic pizzas, garlic sliders, deep-fried garlic, and garlic ice cream. Kids get pony rides, a petting zoo, and a bounce house. Drop-off for guests who need it is in front of the Bethlehem Fair office house.
Our take: Try samples at the specialty garlic vendors before you commit to roasted garlic sausage or garlic ice cream.
Parking
Cash only at the ticket gates. No dogs; service dogs are the exception. Handicap drop-off is in front of the Bethlehem Fair office house.
