About this event
The Bakersfield Christmas Parade is a long-running nighttime parade through downtown Bakersfield, organized by the Bakersfield Christmas Parade Committee and shown live on KGET-TV 17. The committee keeps it a Christmas-themed, family-oriented parade, with floats, entries and a Market Place of vendors along the way, and the route is lit with extra light towers so the floats glow after dark. The 2026 theme is "A Magical Christmas."
Our take: Park outside the route well before the streets close in the afternoon and walk in, since pedestrians can still reach the curb after the barriers go up.
Parking
Streets along the route close around 2pm on parade day; park outside the route and walk in.
