About this event

Lyon College in Batesville presents the Arkansas Scottish Festival, established in 1979 as the Highland Games and tied to the college's Scottish heritage and Presbyterian connection. Batesville, described as Arkansas' oldest city, draws pipers, drummers, dancers, athletes, Scottish clans, and vendors from around the country. The weekend centers on piping competitions, food, and handmade crafts, with opening ceremonies and a parade of massed bands and clans. An Entertainment Zone, a feast with ceilidh and dancing, Lil' Highlanders, sheep dog demos, and a dog show fill out the grounds.

Our take: Arrive for the Saturday gate opening if you want time on the grounds before the noon parade of massed bands and clans.

Parking

Electric vehicle charging stations are in the crescent parking lot across from the Lyon College Welcome Center.
