About this event
The Rescue Mission of Roanoke Drumstick Dash is a 5K run and family walk on a scenic tour of downtown Roanoke, starting at Williamson and Franklin roads and finishing a block and a half away on Jefferson Street in front of the Main Library. It funds the Rescue Mission's dining services, which typically serve 200,000+ meals a year, and was voted Best Charity Race by the Roanoker Magazine. Runners get a medal and a shirt, walkers get a shirt, and leashed dogs can join the walk for a special charm.
Parking
Free at the Elmwood Garage (Tazewell Ave access only), Elmwood Lot (3rd St access only) and Carilion Community Hospital Garage; many other downtown garages and lots are also open.
Good to know
5K run and walk 9am (race-morning packet pickup 6:30–8:30am at Elmwood Park Stage)
