About this event

The trail at Bluemont Park in Arlington carries a 5K run and walk that encourages unicorns, superheroes, rainbow warriors, and colorful tutus. The Braden James Fund was formed in memory of its namesake, who died in 2022 at 5.5 years old after an 18-month battle with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, the deadliest pediatric cancer. The fund works through play, advocacy, and research for children and families facing pediatric brain cancer, including DIPG. Water, hot chocolate, coffee, cupcakes, and donuts are set out on site, and the run goes on rain or shine. Wear something bright before you line up.

Our take: Wear a bright costume, then grab hot chocolate or a donut after the trail.

Parking

Parking is inside Bluemont Park. Use the entrance close to 4th Street, not 4th Road, and not the entrance next to the tennis courts. Walk across the bridge to the Bluemont Picnic Pavilion.
