About this event

Wurstfest is ten days of German culture and Texas fun in Landa Park, near the headwaters of the Comal River in New Braunfels, with good food, cold beer, carnival rides and Alpine and Bavarian style entertainment. More than 40 bands play over 250 sets on five stages, and the lineup includes polka, waltz and yodeling contests plus the Stein-Holding State Championship. Ed Grist, the city meat inspector, created the festival in 1961 to honor sausage, and every ticket supports more than 20 local New Braunfels nonprofits. Kids 12 and under get in free every day, and every bar takes cards.

Our take: Admission is free on the Monday-through-Thursday weeknights, when gates open at 5 p.m.

Parking

Parking next to the grounds is limited and can fill early on high-attendance nights; Park 'N Ride shuttle runs from the Comal County Fairgrounds.
