About this event

The Texas Renaissance Festival turns a 55-acre open-air theme park in Todd Mission into a Renaissance kingdom on fall weekends, with eight themed weekends through the season. All stage shows and entertainment come with admission, while games, rides, food and drinks cost extra. Costumes from any era or fantasy realm are welcome, and Belrose East Costume Rentals sits just outside the front gate. The day ends with the Royal Fireworks at 8 p.m., and a campground linked by walking paths to the festival entrance lets guests stay overnight.

Our take: Arrive before the 9 a.m. gate opening: most guests arrive between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and the King and Queen greet early arrivals at the front gates from 8:45 a.m.

Parking

From Hwy 249, exit at FM 1774 and follow County Road 302 to the north lot; from Magnolia on FM 1774, use the south lot. Stick to the main roads, since app reroutes can lead to roads closed to festival traffic. Parking passes are sold online.

Good to know

Open Saturdays and Sundays, Oct 10 to Nov 29, plus Friday, Nov 27.
