About this event
The Texas Butterfly Festival is held at the National Butterfly Center in Mission, a town USA Today has called the butterfly capital of the USA. Registered attendees spend three days on field trips with expert trip leaders across public lands and private gardens in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, where you may reasonably expect to see more than 60 species in a day, and the festival also hosts the North American Butterfly Photo Contest. Everyone is invited to the free Community Day for families.
Our take: If you are not registered for the field trips, go to Community Day in the morning, when the gardens are at their best for spotting butterflies.
