Sissons' Pumpkin Patch

Sissons' Pumpkin Patch in Girard has been a tri-state family fall stop since 2010, built around a straw fort, corn maze, pedal karts, wagon rides, and slides. Five giant slides, from 20 to 100 feet, are a headliner: grab a burlap sack and race down. A tractor-drawn wagon takes a 15-minute ride on a wooded trail to Crooked Creek, and the straw fort is stacked from 3-by-8-foot bales. The maze hides ten Mad Lib signs, and pedal karts come in adult sizes plus smaller Binkie karts. A concession stand sells hot dogs, walking tacos, chili, super pretzels, and nachos, with a gift shop in the sales area. Horse-drawn wagon rides, pumpkin smashing, and gourd slingshots are add-ons.

Our take: Start with the giant slides and the Mad Lib corn maze, then take the wagon ride out to Crooked Creek.
