Old-Fashioned Christmas in the Woods

Old-Fashioned Christmas in the Woods has drawn shoppers from across the country to Shaker Woods in Columbiana for more than three decades. Craftspeople set up among the trees to demonstrate their work and sell handmade holiday goods alongside traditional crafts, from candles and leatherwork to woodworking and dolls. Level grounds laced with gravel footpaths keep the woods easy to walk even when it's busy, and featured entertainment and a Santa of the Woods round out the day. The show has helped Columbiana earn a spot on a list of the top 25 Christmas towns in the United States.

Our take: Bring cash: card readers in the woods can run slow when crowds are heavy, though three ATMs are on the grounds.
