About this event
Founded in 1997, the Rosendale International Pickle Festival gathers more than 100 vendors at the Ulster County Fairgrounds on Libertyville Road in New Paltz. Booths sell pickles, groceries, hot food, baked goods, crafts, fashion, and jewelry, and the grounds draw as many as 7,000 people. A home pickling contest shares the program with the Pickle Triathlon, a three-part stretch of pickle eating, pickle juice drinking, and a pickle toss.
Our take: Hit the Pickle Triathlon early if the eating contest, juice drinking, and toss are the reason you came, then spend the rest of the visit in the vendor rows.
Parking
ATMs available; many vendors take credit cards. No pets. Rain or shine; the festival does not cancel.
