About this event
The Old First Ward Arts & Heritage Festival celebrates the art, music and heritage of Buffalo's Old First Ward with an all-day festival along Republic Street between Vincennes and Louisiana streets, outside the Old First Ward Community Center and the Barcalo building. Visitors find live music, art installations and free hands-on art workshops, first come, first served. 42 Beer Truck sells beer, wine and seltzers, the community center grills hot dogs, hamburgers and sausages, and neighborhood restaurants hand out free samples at Taste of the Ward.
Our take: Neighbors fill the nearby curbs, so after 3 p.m. park at Undergrounds Coffee House and walk down Hamburg St. to Republic St.
Parking
Organizers encourage carpooling, ride sharing, biking, transit or walking. Street parking on Louisiana St., South Park St. and parts of Ohio St.; ride-share drop-off at 225 Louisiana St. or 67 Vincennes St. Bring chairs for the bands.
