Art Alive Celebration (Buffalo AKG)

Art Alive is a free celebration on the Great Lawn and Wilson Town Square of the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, where participants bring artworks to life as tableaux: living re-creations of works from the museum's collection and Public Art Initiative, built with people, costumes, props and imagination. Students, families, community groups and individuals compete, and a new Edible Art category has pastry chefs, bakers and dessert artists recreating artworks in cake, cookies and other edible media. Guests vote for their favorites, a panel of local judges picks Best in Show, and more than $4,000 in prizes are awarded.
