About this event
The Xcel Energy Holiday Lights Parade, hosted by the Downtown Community Partnership, is the annual kick-off to the holiday season for the Fargo-Moorhead community. Each year thousands of spectators gather downtown for an evening of illuminated parade floats, marching units and festive equestrian entries, with sponsor Xcel Energy and community participants helping light up Downtown Fargo and Moorhead. The DCP, whose commitment to downtown dates back to 1969 and the Fargo Park and Shop, produces the parade alongside its wider work on downtown revitalization.
Our take: Dress for a North Dakota December night and claim a curb spot well before the lighted floats step off.
