About this event
The Adventure Center of Asheville hosts a family-friendly haunt created by Asheville Plays, billed as Asheville's only one of its kind and aimed at kids about 3 to 12. The trail is 18 live-action outdoor scenes with lights and sound, classic Halloween themes, and no contact or gore, including rowdy cowboys, a mad doctor, and silly clowns. A Sweet Peek Tour walks younger guests through actor-free scenes. While you wait, the line wraps a game field with monster-sized games, a 30-foot pirate ship escape room, and an Area 50Fun dance party. Aerial Glow Trail climbs two lit trails for ages 4 and up, except on October 22, when glow access is off.
Our take: Arrive between 6:00 and 7:00 if you hold a combo pass, because Glow Trail times are assigned on arrival and the last line for either activity is 8:45.
Good to know
Festival area opens 6:00. Sweet Peek Tour 6:30 only, meet at the giant candy corn sign. Trail opens about 7:00-7:15; all lines close at 9:00. Adults 18+ must accompany minors. Glow Trail needs closed-toe shoes, a harness-fit outfit, and a helmet; max weight 265 lbs. October 25 is Sensory Friendly Night.
