About this event
The Topsfield Fair, run by the Essex Agricultural Society at 207 Boston Street in Topsfield, mixes agricultural shows with entertainment. Its daily program includes the All New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off, sheep and draft horse shows, Dock Dogs and performers such as the Flying Wallendas, and vendors offer $5 food deals. A Sensory Day on the fair's first Monday lowers sound and limits announcements for guests with autism or sensory processing disorders.
Our take: On busy days, spaces in the fair's lots are taken early, so come early if you want an accessible space near a gate.
Parking
Every lot has accessible parking near an entrance gate; Lot A (River Gate), entered from Route 1, has the most spaces. Wheelchairs can be rented at the River Gate.
Good to know
Gates open one hour before the buildings, which open at 10 or 11 a.m. Children under 8 free with an adult admission. All sales final.
