About this event
The Barksdale Defenders of Liberty Air Show is organized and hosted by the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base, with support from the Shreveport-Bossier Military Affairs Council. First held in 1933, it is a full-weekend show of the latest and historic military and civilian aircraft, plus related performers and aerobatic flying. The point is public awareness of U.S. Air Force capabilities and the Barksdale mission, and a chance for Shreveport-Bossier City to present Louisiana as the home of the B-52, honor service members, and back recruiting. The 2025 show drew over 200,000 visitors.
Our take: Walk the static displays first so you are on the flight line before the aerobatic performances.
