About this event

Skokie Farmers' Market is a producers-only market at 5127 Oakton Street, where everything sold is grown or made by the person selling it. Over 80 vendors, longtime stalls and newcomers alike, cover just-picked fruit and vegetables, baked goods, meats and poultry, artisanal cheeses, honey, and ready-to-eat treats. It runs rain or shine, and through an occasional surprise snow. Live music moves from flute and banjo players to larger bands playing jazz, rock, and country, with kids' activities every week. Themed days include 70s Day, Super Hero Day, and Halloween at the Market. SNAP is accepted, with a match at the green market tent.

Our take: Bring the kids for the weekly activities, and stay past mid-morning when the bigger jazz, rock, and country bands take over.

Parking

Parking at the public lot and garage at Oakton Street and Floral Avenue, lots by the Skokie Heritage Museum, and the Skokie Public Library west lot. Handicap-accessible parking via Galitz Street on the market's west side.

Good to know

Dogs and pets are not permitted. The market is smoke-free and runs snow or shine.
