Trailing of the Sheep Festival

Trailing of the Sheep Festival in Hailey gathers people to celebrate, present, and preserve the history and cultures of sheepherding in Idaho and the West. Ranchers trail bands north into the mountains for summer grazing and south in the fall, and the festival builds on that movement with a Big Sheep Parade, sheepdog trials, a folklife fair, Sheep Tales Gathering, and Wool Fest. Cuisine runs from cooking classes and farm to table dinners to Lamb Fest.

Our take: Make the Big Sheep Parade the anchor, then add the sheepdog trials or Lamb Fest for the food side.
