About this event
The Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association's Lighting Ceremony Parade sends lighted entries down Sherman Avenue with marching bands, dancers, music and festive floats. Afterward the crowd gathers on The Coeur d'Alene Resort lawn for carols and a countdown, followed by fireworks from the Hagadone Corporation. When the show ends, the switch is flipped and more than 1.5 million lights brighten downtown.
Our take: Sherman Avenue closes before the parade and route parking is restricted, so park a few blocks off and walk in.
