About this event
Capturing the Spirit of Oakland is the Historic Oakland Foundation's Halloween tour of Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta. Visitors explore the cemetery after dark, following costumed storytellers who portray a few of the characters who helped make Atlanta the city it is today. The route covers about a mile and takes roughly 75 minutes, so comfortable shoes help, and some paths at the historic site are uneven. Ticket purchases support the foundation's work to preserve, restore and share the cemetery.
Our take: Skip the car if you can: King Memorial Station is a 7–10 minute walk from the cemetery's Main Gate.
Parking
Limited onsite parking is $20, and street parking nearby is limited; rideshare is strongly encouraged.
Good to know
Your ticket time is when you're admitted to the cemetery, not a tour start time, and tickets are valid only for the reserved timeslot.
