Salute to America in Space (MAX POWER Air Show at Kennedy Space Center)

Salute to America in Space is the flying portion of MAX POWER, NASA's celebration of American air and space innovation created for the nation's 250th anniversary. The setting is the draw: the historic Shuttle Landing Facility at Kennedy Space Center, the runway where Space Shuttles touched down after missions in orbit, opens to the public for the occasion. Overhead, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds share the sky with NASA aircraft and demonstrations from several military branches. On the ground, visitors can get close to aircraft, spaceflight hardware and next-generation technology, including NASA's Artemis work.

Our take: Give the ground displays as much time as the flying, because this is an unusual chance to see spaceflight hardware up close at the runway where the shuttles came home.
