About this event

The Historic Lewes Farmers Market is a nonprofit, producer-only market started by volunteers in the summer of 2006 and now home to more than 40 vendors. Shoppers find produce, eggs, fruit, breads and baked goods, meats, seafood, cut flowers and herbs, along with workshops by local chefs who cook with market food, master gardeners and wellness providers. The market matches SNAP benefits and runs a program for buying farm food to donate to local pantries, and USA Today readers ranked it among the country's best farmers markets.

Our take: In fall the Saturday market moves from George H.P. Smith Park to the Lewes Elementary School lot on Savannah Road, so don't head to the summer spot.

Good to know

Fall market Saturdays, 9 a.m.–noon, at Lewes Elementary School, 820 Savannah Rd., through Dec. 5. No pets except service dogs.
