San Diego Veterans Day Parade

Presented by the USS Midway Museum, the San Diego Veterans Day Parade honors everyone who has worn the nation's uniform with a march down Harbor Drive along the downtown waterfront, in front of the County Admin Building. Marching bands, historic military units, vintage vehicles and patriotic performers make up the procession, led by a grand marshal, as thousands of San Diegans line the route. The Midway itself was the longest-serving aircraft carrier of the 20th century, commissioned in 1945 just after World War II ended.

Our take: Pair the parade with a visit to the USS Midway Museum, where more than 30 restored aircraft fill the flight and hangar decks.
