About this event
Moreno Valley's Day of the Dead Celebration, run by the city's Parks & Community Services department, fills the Civic Amphitheater with an evening of remembering departed loved ones. Residents can apply to build an altar, or ofrenda, for display, and the stage lineup features Danza Azteca Xochipilli and ballet folklórico. A Catrina and Catrin contest, informational and craft booths, and a Kids Market round out the night.
Our take: Arrive early to walk the ofrendas while it's quiet, then settle in for the stage show; dressing up as a Catrina or Catrin is half the fun.
