About this event
Fort Smith's largest haunted event sends visitors down a spine-chilling trail built for thrills at every age. River Valley Nightmare is a walk-through haunting rather than a seated show, with the path opening after the gates and the grounds staying open into the night. The draw is the trail itself: dark, outdoor, and meant to be walked at a pace that lets each scene land. Wear shoes you can move in and leave room in the evening to go through without rushing.
Our take: Start down the trail soon after it opens so you are not still on the path near closing.
Good to know
Gates open at 7 p.m., the trail opens at 8 p.m., and the grounds stay open until 11 p.m.
