About this event
Birmingham's Jingle Bell Run is held at Patriot Park on Oak Grove Road in Homewood, opening with a ceremony before wheelchair and framerunner athletes start the 5K, followed by timed and untimed runners and a 1-mile fun run. Awards go three deep for overall men, women and wheelchair or frame runners plus age groups from 14 and under to 60-plus. The honorees include University of Alabama gymnast Paityn Walker, who returned to the sport after a rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis, and Dr. William Craig of Southlake Orthopaedics.
