SC Fear Farm in Blacksburg says it ranks consistently among the best haunted houses in the Carolinas, and one ticket covers all six attractions, including Abyss, Mineshaft Mayhem, The Coven, Confinement, Twisty'z, and Farm House. There is no age limit, though parental discretion is advised, and a no-scare medallion from the gift shop or ticket booth keeps monsters away from anyone who wants out. Actors will not touch you. A concession stand and gift shop are on site, and the house is indoors with indoor queue lines, while some other attractions are outdoors and may pause in rain. Plan at least an hour if you want the full set of attractions, and skip brand-new shoes for the walk from the car.

Our take: Arrive in the 7 to 8 o'clock hour and plan at least an hour if you want all six attractions before close.
