About this event
Dragon Lights Reno fills the Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Garden with thousands of Chinese lantern sculptures that glow, move, and change colors. Displays cover flora, fauna, and imaginary creatures. The walk is less than a mile, though visitors often stay more than 90 minutes. A guided audio tour explains the displays, photos are encouraged, and an interactive playground lets kids touch, play with, and sit on some lanterns. Local and traveling vendors sell Asian and American bites, and an on-site marketplace carries souvenirs and handicrafts.
Our take: Plan on more than 90 minutes even though the path is under a mile, and use the audio tour if you want the story behind each lantern.
