About this event
Water Street Plaza in Henderson, at 240 S. Water St, holds Aki Matsuri, the fall festival of the Japanese Festival Association of Nevada. JFAN received Japan's Foreign Minister's Commendation in 2024 for work that deepens understanding between Japan and the United States. A Sake Pavilion, co-hosted with the Consulate-General of Japan in San Francisco and named in memory of Martin Koleff, offers a tasting of Japanese alcoholic beverages. A haiku contest is part of the festival, and Nevada Ondo is the community dance tied to the day.
Our take: Leave time for both the Sake Pavilion tasting and the Nevada Ondo, since the plaza day runs from late morning into the evening.
Good to know
11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Water Street Plaza.
