Kenmare GooseFest

GooseFest is an eight-day hunting festival in Kenmare, which calls itself the Snow Goose Capital of North Dakota. The opening stretch includes a chili and soup cook-off and feed at Kenmare Country Club, plus a family fall festival put on by the Kenmare Association of Commerce. Bird weigh-ins, a Lakeview Art Club wildlife art show and sale at M&K's Pizza Hub, a two-person fun shoot, bingo, steak nights, a landowners' banquet with a Goose Hunters Hall of Fame induction, clay shooting, and a goose-shoot contest fill the week. Memorial Hall, City Limits Bar, and Beer Bob's host feeds, drawings, and live music along the way.

Our take: If you are not hunting, the Country Club chili feed and the wildlife art show at M&K's Pizza Hub are the easiest pieces to drop in on.
