About this event
The Cleveland County Fair has been a tradition in Shelby since 1924. It is billed as the largest county fair in North Carolina, and more than 100,000 visitors make the trip. Guests can take on more than 40 rides and choose from more than 50 food vendors, not counting stands traveling with Reithoffer Shows. Stages add high-flying stunt shows, trick roping, knife-throwing, racing pigs, live chainsaw carving, and touring bands beside livestock shows and exhibits that have anchored the fair since day one.
Our take: Head for the livestock shows and exhibit halls, not only the midway, for the fair's agricultural side.
