About this event
The Natchez Balloon Festival, established in 1986, is a weekend of hot-air balloons and live music on the parklike grounds of the columned mansion Rosalie in historic downtown Natchez. Organizers call it the largest and most successful festival in Southwest Mississippi. Balloons do not launch or land on the festival site; flight fields are chosen from the weather that day. Arts and crafts from local artists, a sports tent, rides, and games fill the grounds between flights.
Our take: Do not wait on the Rosalie grounds to see a balloon lift off, because launch sites are chosen from that day's weather.
