About this event
Main Street Greenville's Delta Hot Tamale Festival takes over downtown Greenville with a welcome dinner, a Friday street night, and a main Saturday. The welcome dinner is in the courtyard of Hotel 27, with cocktails, and a street-band dance party. Friday is Food Truck Friday, with live music on the main stage and no armband required. Saturday moves back onto Washington Avenue for food vendors, arts and crafts, kids' activities, an eating contest, a cooking contest, and book signings. Flavors of the Festival, in a tent in front of Hotel 27, pairs vendor tamales with craft beer across seatings. A parade is open to past hot tamale royalty and civic groups.
Our take: Do Friday if you want food trucks and music, and Saturday if you want the full tamale lineup and a Flavors seating.
Parking
Saturday requires an armband; Friday needs none. From Wednesday, Hotel 27 parking is for registered guests with passes only. Vehicles blocking vendor spots can be towed.
Good to know
Flavors seatings ask you to arrive 15 minutes early.
