Fryeburg Fair

Fryeburg Fair fills the grounds at 1154 Main Street in Fryeburg, Maine, with livestock shows, pulling contests, and exhibitions. Beef and dairy cattle, draft horses, goats, llamas and alpacas, poultry, rabbits, sheep, and swine share the week with harness racing, a woodsmen's field day, sheep dog trials, a firemen's muster, and lawn mower races. Calf and pig scrambles, a tractor pull, and a skillet, anvil, and keg throw are on the list, and night shows come with admission. Exhibition halls, a farm museum, craft demonstrations, and a fiber center give the daytime a second track. The fair keeps 3,000 RV and camper sites. Leaving traffic splits at Swan's Falls Road, north toward Lovell or south toward Conway.

Our take: Use one of the 3,000 camper sites if you want to skip the exit split at Swan's Falls Road after the night shows.
