About this event
The Sycamore Pumpkin Festival is a community celebration of local not-for-profit organizations in downtown Sycamore, Illinois, clustered near Main and State Street on the courthouse lawn and town square. The Lions pumpkin display sits on the courthouse lawn, a carnival runs Friday through Sunday, and the Sunday parade is live streamed on SpartanTV. A Kiwanis pumpkin pie eating contest bars hands, and pork chop sandwiches and smoked mac and cheese are festival food staples. Parade walkers hand candy to the crowd at the chalk line rather than throwing it from vehicles.
Our take: Bring a bag for Sunday parade candy handed at the chalk line, or follow the SpartanTV stream if you would rather stay with the Lions display on the courthouse lawn.
Good to know
Parade candy is handed by walkers at the chalk line; no throwing or tossing from vehicles.
