Kentuck Festival of the Arts

The Kentuck Festival of the Arts, now held at Snow Hinton Park in Tuscaloosa, began as a celebration of Northport's centennial and Southern folkways and has grown into a nationally recognized art festival. More than 270 folk and contemporary artists exhibit, with live music, artist demonstrations, spoken word performances, activities for kids, food trucks and local craft beer. Judges Timothy Weber and Kim Mitchell score the exhibiting artists on quality, originality, design and technique and award a total of $12,200. Kentuck Art Center runs galleries and workshops in Northport and Tuscaloosa all year.
