Sitka WhaleFest

Sitka WhaleFest is an annual Sitka tradition that celebrates marine life through science, art, culture, and adventure, for attendees of all ages and backgrounds. The core is a three-day Science Symposium where scientists and knowledge-bearers share the latest research on marine life, with speakers keeping it accessible for every kind of listener. Hands-on workshops, the work of artists and performers, exploring Sitka Sound, and time with Sitka's community round out the festival.

Our take: Put the Science Symposium on the plan first, then add a workshop or a Sitka Sound outing around those talks.
